march 2014//beginning

Welcome to a new chapter in your organizational skills.

The question I get asked most often is, "Where do you even begin?" You'll be glad to know that the answer is the same and different with every single project.

One of the most wonderful things about being human is that each and every person is different. Not one person is the same. Sure, we have things in common or preferences that are alike but we all have the ability to be our own person. As fantastic as that is...sometimes it can make for a difficult formula for organization.

Because each person is an individual, that means each space is utilized for a specific purpose tailored to their needs or desire. So when looking at new opportunity for organization I'll ask a few of the same key questions:

-  "What do you want to use this space for?"

- "What are the things you love about this space?"

- "What are the thing you hate about this space?"

What is so fascinating is that the answer is different for everyone.

Answering those simple questions can help develop a strategy to move forward. Some people love that their hall closet is easily accessible for cleaning supplies to the entire floor of a home and others hate that the shelving unit is taking up so much free space. Whatever answers you have for those questions, that is exactly where you begin.

One more detail, just because you have a space you want to use in another way DOESN'T mean that you have to spend your life savings on plastic bins or label machines or shelving units. It is possible to use what you have around the house but in a way you might not have imagined before!
